May 5
Red Dress Day, also known as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), is held annually on May 5 to honor and raise awareness of the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people. The day is a reminder of the ongoing genocidal crisis and invites solidarity and action.
